In an attempt to clear "Return to the Depths," I decided to level my SAM to 40 and eventually 42. Now some of you might recall my very second post and how I hated SAM tanking, but after some exploding fireworks, black dragons, and the Emerald Gem of -- OW!
Snippy, what are you doing here? I am hallucinating? No way!
Back to the story, my PT leader departed at some point, so I ended up tanking on SAM. Although I tanked a Doom Scorpion without being hit, there is something about tanking on a melee job that just is not appealing. Something like not having a personal tank or getting bashed hard just gives me the jitters.

Nonetheless, I managed to SAM tank for a while, and afterward, I decided to travel to Norg and start the SAM AF1 quest. Luckily for me, I had kept my level 1 Great Katana in my Mog Safe, and if any of you ever plan to level SAM past 40, keep it to avoid a 30k replacement fee.
For this quest, the NPC sent me to retrieve some Crystal Scales off a Pugil NM, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone: Snippy was starving for fish, and I wanted a shiny, new sword.

For my diligent work, I was given a new weapon forged by the NPC himself, and I immediately decided it was better-looking than my previous Great Katana. Unfortunately, I only expected myself to level SAM to 40 (and I surpassed that), so continued SAM leveling will have to wait for another day.

Here, I have used expensive, digital editing techniques to remove the menu that was obscuring my body, so now you mesmerize yourself with my blazing red hair and Great Katana. In fact, I even traveled to Jeuno afterward to dance for Ariane in my new outfit, anticipating a flawless rematch against Twilotak.

Unfortunately, Ariane shook her head and thought I looked rather "noobish" in scale armor. Moreover, she said it reminded her of the "uglier, brown Scale Mail" from her Valkurm Dunes days.
Tell me she is wrong, people! I just know I look super, special awesome in blue!
Notes:
a) "Noobish" is an adjective for someone who is a new at something. It is similar to "newbie," a new internet user, but the particular distinction between the two words (if any) is unknown to me.

You don't know the difference between newb and noob?
Newb is someone who is new to the game and is just lacking in experience with the game.
Noob is someone who is inherently an idiot, and no amount of experience in the game will change that fact.
Those are my definitions anyway :P
