Induced Rivalry

Liabelle and I have always been comrades in arms, but the new fellowship quest, "Clash of the Comrades," was about to change everything. As shown above, Luto (the NPC associate of Vana'diel) has convinced Lia into feeling inferior to yours truly.

In fact, Lia even challenged me to a duel as a test of strength. "Kiddo?!" I raised her since level 30! How dare she turn on me! Well, I am not sure what dealings Luto and Lia have been up to, but asking me to hit a lady is just too much. I will let you win this time, Lia; let us call it a day. What do you mean you will not take no for an answer?

Since a duel looked inevitable, I decided to call Snippy for some help. Unfortunately, Snippy was busy at the time, so I decided to take my alternative pet, Lifedrinker Lars, to the Northlands BC.

Woah! Since when did Lia obtain an Algol? I do not recall her wielding one or having one myself. It seems that Lia has been receiving upgrades without my permission, but is she more bark than bite? She seems to have a lot more spunk lately.

And what is this?! Snippy helping Lia under a crab-py alias ? How many pies did she bake for you, Snippy? Bad girl; I mean bad girls! You are both in for a spanking, and I do not mean just for this fight.

But I gotta hand it to them, Snippy and Lia made a great team. As a BST/NIN, Lia casted her shadows near perfectly and could land Ninjutsu to my dismay. In fact, I got hit by "Jubaku: Ichi" just after Snippy cut through my shadow images. Lia even learned "Ground Strike" somehow, and to my knowledge, she is only supposed to be level 65!

Well, I suppose Lia and I do have one thing in common: we both hate losing. Still, I am somewhat impressed that she could cause me some pain. She felt like a Maat with lower HP, and I really did not like how both Lia and Snippy could hit 100s on me and Lars. In total, I ended up using four Hi-Potions and exited the battlefield with the HP shown above. With results like this, Lia and I can go duoing as BSTs any day -- just as soon as I reeducate her over one knee. Catch you all later!
