Did You Know?

I have been running out of interesting things to blog about lately, so I have decided to create some neat FFXI trivia.
  1. There are invisible "walls" in the game (entering the Tavnazian Safehold and Upper Jeuno).
  2. Some Rare/Ex items are mailable (e.g. 2008 Event Eggs, Smart Grenade)!
  3. The item Counterfeit Gil can be sold for gil!
  4. You can trade your Moogle as many Imperial Bronze Pieces as you like.
  5. You can temporarily remove your subjob.
  6. You can "Steal" only one item per monster (if applicable).
  7. You can still receive the same item you stole as a drop, if the monster drops it as well.
  8. There is no limit to the maximum amount of gil you can carry. However, if you have more than 999M, it displays as 999M until you go under this amount.
  9. You can remove food effects by trading a bushel of Gysahl Greens to Parike-Poranke in Lower Jeuno.
  10. You can ask a GM to recover an item(s) only once; after that, you are out of luck.
  11. You need a rank of Superior Private or higher to start the quest "The Art of War." More on this quest later.
  12. Hounds and Doomed mobs are the only monsters that receive extra damage from Slashing weapons (like Axes).
  13. While part of an alliance, it is impossible to lose claim on a monster by switching targets.
  14. There are two NPCs with the name Hae Jakkya.
  15. You can create a lot of extra space by sending items to yourself via the Delivery Box.
  16. In the Bostaunieux Oubliette, there are trapdoors near the intersection at G-10 and H-9 on the upper level. These doors plummet you to the basement, usually into a pile of angry monsters.
  17. Use the "/blockaid on" command to stop other players from casting magic on you. It also stops them from requesting trade or party invites (use "/blockaid off" to remove).
  18. You can also avoid targeting player pets (excluding your own) by typing "/ignorepet on" (use "/ignorepet off" to remove).
  19. You can send your pet through walls and up small cliffs by selecting a target on "Widescan" and using the following command:

You must have some line of sight with the mob and be within range to use this command.

Oh, and for anyone who is interested, here is my 2008 Census trading card:

"14) There are 2 NPCs with the same unique name in Vana'diel (Hae Jakkya, Southern San d'Oria & Windurst Woods)"

This is incorrect. The one in Windurst is called Hae Jakkya, the one in San d'Oria is Hae Jakhya.

    Fine, same first name then!
